Panama City Beach

We just got home from a quick two day trip to the beach. The weather was perfect! We all had a great time. Well, Jimmy was in meetings most of the days, but he did get to enjoy the beach a little bit. Jewel enjoyed finding seashells and swimming in the pool the best. Jane preferred digging and building in the sand. I took VERY few pictures due to the fact that toddlers, sand, water, and digital cameras don't all go together very well! :)

Jane loved playing in the sand. Although she was really excited to swim in the pool at first, all it took was one head dive upon entry into the pool for her to prefer sitting on the side. She finally overcame her fear of the water the second day. And, yes, Jane did insist upon wearing her goggles most of the time; however, I don't think she was wearing them when she did her face plant in the water!

Do you see the dark area in the water behind the boys? It is a school of little fish (they measured about 3 inches long). We first noticed that some fish were caught in the little pool of water (on the left in the picture), and then several dead fish were scattered on the sand between the little pool of water and the ocean. After the girls and I rescued a couple of stranded fish and threw them back into the ocean, we went back to playing in the sand. The boys (in the picture) were the ones who noticed that there was a huge school of fish hanging out in the water. It was pretty cool!

Jane did not really like walking in the sand and cried several times for me to carry her (which wasn't always possible since my hands were usually full carrying all of our stuff!). At one point Jewel told Jane in her best mothering voice, "Jane, God made our legs to walk...for His own glory!"
