Crinkle, Crinkle, Little Star!

Jane loves to sing. Both videos are of her singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star (or rather, Crinkle, Crinkle, Little Star). The second video she breaks in the middle to say one of the funniest things she often says, "Oh wow, Mommy!"

Jewel Riding Her Bike

Jewel has really enjoyed her bike over the past week. It took her a few minutes of practice to figure out what to do, and then she just took off and rode lap after lap around our driveway.

Jewel's Memorization

Jewel is a little memorizing machine! In Sunday school, I have had my class memorize 3 songs and the Lord's prayer (they are all sung or recited each week during the Worship service). A couple of weeks ago Jewel memorized her last song and was able to get her prize, the book The True Princess. We have read it at least once a day since she got it. She really likes it a lot. It was the first time that she "earned" a prize; I think that makes her treasure the book even more! Right now at home, Jewel has been memorizing the ABC verses from this book (she is almost done!). Once she is able to say them all on her own, we are going to give her this book. In Sunday school, her next memorization piece is Psalm 23.

One Year Ago Today...

...this is what I was doing.

One year ago today...we left our beloved home in Central Arkansas to move to a new place where we knew no one. God has really shown His faithfulness to us over this past year. We are so grateful for His sovereign hand orchestrating the events of our lives for His glory and for our good! We have been blessed beyond all measure.

Our Little Fish

This past week Jewel taught herself how to swim...really well! She swam the length of the pool like 10 to 15 times, and was loving every minute of it. Tonight she finally decided to try jumping from the side of the pool into the water. She is doing really well...we are just trying to get her to jump a little further so she doesn't end up hitting the back of her head.

Jane Singing

On our way home from the beach, Jane was looking out the window singing so pretty. She sort of stopped when I started videoing her, but it was still cute! Oh, and don't try to understand what she is singing because she isn't singing any real words...just pretty sounds! :)

Quiet Time?

I think that another name for this activity might be more appropriate.

Observation # 1: I must get up earlier than my family if I want to have a quieter "Quiet Time."

Observation #2: My girls are great little playmates.

Observation #3: No matter how tidy the living room is at night, it is only a matter of minutes before it is rearranged to be a suitable play environment.

Observation #4: Trying to read my Bible with noises consisting of little girls playing together sweetly, a Bible movie playing, and a sermon playing in the background is easier than trying to read to "less desirable" noises AND is a grace of God.

Observation #5: I wouldn't change anything about the season of life that I am in! :)

Sharks!

So the last morning at the beach, we were enjoying the nice calm waters. We weren't planning on getting in so none of us wore our swimsuits. Not five minutes before the sharks were spotted I said to Jimmy, "Now this would be a good morning to go out deeper in the water since the water is so calm." The sharks were well within the swimming area. I think Jimmy was out at that spot the evening before with both girls. YIKES!

CRAZY PEOPLE!
The sharks drew a crowd. Supposedly a 10 foot bull head shark (or something like that) was spotted just a few minutes earlier. The ones we saw were probably called black tip sharks and were only about 3 or 4 feet long. However, we did see something quite bigger swimming with the sharks that never seemed to surface.
