Key Truth #9: Overlooking differences (preferences rather than sin issues) in other believers for the sake of unity pleases God. A couple of years ago I read an excellent book entitled Who Are You to Judge (subtitled “the dangers of judging and legalism”) by Dave Swavely. This book really opened my eyes to the dangers of being legalistic and holding others to my own standards. So many times we are concerned with trying to keep sin away from us that we forget that sin resides within our very beings. God has used this book to help me become a more loving sister in Christ to others in the Body. It has also admonished me to judge my own motives and to make choices based upon conviction of scripture.
